After your breakfast this morning, you will start a historical exploration of Kigali with visits to Kigali Genocide memorial where over 250,000 victims of Genocide against Tutsi in 1994. You will learn more about Genocides that happened all over the globe and in Rwanda specifically, what caused it, how Rwandans lived before Genocide, and how they have moved on and living in harmony post Genocide. You will also visit Richard Kandt Museum formerly called Rwandan Natural History Museum a peep looks at the colonial history, famous reptiles in a sanctuary and to mention a few.
Lunch followed by a transfer to Eastern part of the country to visit Akagera National Park, on arrival you will check in at the lodge and get ready for an adventure on the Lake. Head for a sunset boat ride on Lake Ihema where you’ll have chances to see Nile crocodiles, schools of hippopotamus, water birds and other animals such as elephants, buffaloes, etc. Overnight at RUZIZI Tented Lodge
Breakfast, and on-site guide pick-up straightly heading up to the unmissable safari Game drive. Akagera National Park has been recently the best to-go wildlife hub with a the famous big five (Lion, leopards, Rhinos, Elephants and Buffalo), rodents, browsers, grazers, birds with a clear look on other animals that includes magnificent Crocodiles, Hippos and others.
The scenery, water bodies, bushes, shrubs and trees will be embodied in the safari and the bucket-list will be ticked one by one now till the satisfaction.

Completing the game drive in the far Eastern province of Rwanda, will enable us to explore the rare visited parts of North-East including the plains, Agricultural swamps, remote villages, farms, etc.
Return to Kigali, drop off at the hotel. Overnight at Bishop house
Early transfer from Kigali at 4:30am from the hotel in Kigali to Volcanoes National Park in Musanze. The drive is going to be 2.5hours, once you arrive at the reception of the park you will be checked in, briefed and grouped in small groups before you head to the base of the forest to trek the Golden Monkeys. It is now believed the only feasible population of these Golden Monkeys resides only in Volcanoes National Park.
They are beautiful and endangered primates which have become quite habituated to humans, making it possible to observe them closely.
The trekking ends around 11am if it is not muddy or rainy, you will then return to the base where you will meet your guide and transfer to the hotel for lunch and refreshment.

This morning you’d go for a nature walk in the park to visit Dian Fossey tomb and gorilla graves. This is an educational tour where you learn a lot about the conservation work of a Primatologist Dian Fossey who dedicated her life to the research, protection and conservation of Mountain Gorillas which ended up costing her life, after she was killed by poachers as she was against their poaching activities.

In the afternoon, after lunch and refreshment you will a nature walk in the nearby villages or visit Ellen DeGeneres campus of Dian Fossey to learn more about gorillas, their behaviors, lifestyle, etc. before your trekking with them the following day.
